Previously Working Machine Won't Start, First STeps

All;

It seems my prusa i3 mk2 is refusing to turn back on after attempting to raise the hotend temperature to remove a large glob of Proto-Pasta Magnetic Iron filament that had surrounded the hotend overnight.

I've gone through the standard procedure of unplugging/re-plugging the power cables and would appreciate some guidance on next steps.

Thanks,

Michael

Michael,

Joan is correct. It is possible that the magnetic iron filament blob was able to cause a short across the heater wires. This will blow one of the fuses.

Richard & Joan;

I truly appreciate the advice, I plan on taking those steps after I've taken a few steps to remove that filament blob.

I will update this thread as I progress.

Richard and Joan;

Hello again to you both, I've finally gotten around to testing my machine and... the hot end fuse did indeed fail.

After replacement and removal of the offending cables I was able to boot the machine again. I will now go to fix the remaining issue, but thank you for sending me on the right path.

Sincerely,

Michael
