perplexed new user -PINDA sensor
My Prusa i3 Mk2s has behaved very well until we went on holiday. I came back and tried to print a model but had an error message saying that bed levelling had failed and that the probe connections may be broken.
I went through the calibration routine and it came back OK with minor skew error. Again when trying to print I got the bed levelling error.
I don't understand how the PINDA probe can have an error if the calibration has gone through OK.
Doesn't the printer use the PINDA probe to calibrate?
Any help would be appreciated.

This is strange. If the printer successfully does an XYZ calibration, it should to the Z Calibration just fine. The only real difference is then printing the bed and nozzle are hot, so there is some thermal expansion.
The only thing I can think of is that your PINDA is just a bit too high, and right at the margins of detection (without scraping the nozzle), and the temperature change is just enough to "push it over the edge". It should be about 0.6mm (the thickness of a credit card) above the nozzle tip.
What Live Adjust Z value was properly squashing the first layer? If up near a 1mm, it is worth lowering the PINDA a bit.

Thanks for the advice. I will try lowering the PINDA probe.
I cannot make a test print to set the Z level because the printer sends the error message before printing and then locks up.
I will report back.
