Odd First Layers
So, I'm having a very strange issue. I have had my MK2 for about a month, and I have mainly been focusing on nailing down the basics. Basically just experimenting with everything. Now that I have those pretty much nailed, this issue is the last significant thing I need to solve. The problem is that the first layers are coming out rather funny on certain shapes. For example, I have printed 3DBenchy the boat, and it came out flawlessly.
It looks like a mixture of a layer misalignment, and some over-extrusion. It shows up the most on simple squares, no matter the size. I have made cube objects from 20mm x 20mm, to 200mm x 200mm, and it shows up on all of them. I have tried changing the extrusion multiplier, and the z offset, and neither have any effect. I have even used vase mode to print some tests for the extrusion multiplier, and the issue is still present. The only thing that I have not done is trying a different slicer, which I plan to do next. I honestly can't really think of anything else that might cause something like that, unless its a strange issue with bed leveling.
If anybody has any ideas, please let me know!
Re: Odd First Layers
I have done some further testing since posting, and I have figured out that the problem originates with the detect thin walls option in slic3r. A bug maybe? I would be curious to hear if anybody else has experienced anything similar.
