MK2 Support won't stick

Good Day,

I just got my MK2 upgrade a few days ago. I got it printing great. Then i went to print something that needs supports. Using the Slic3r settings provided in the package from the site. I can't get the supports to stick no matter what.

I have tried a lot of combinations of settings.

looking for some advice, or tips. I can reply with any settings or information that could help, just don't want to over flood to begin with.

(i have tried increasing and decreasing the Z adjustment, doesn't seem to help.)

Post screenshots on your settings. Does the print actually stick and only the supports aren't sticking? I assume you are talking about adhesion to the print bed?

More info/pics/video if you can please.

I'm lowering the speeds a lot for supports, especially if they are tall. But more settings/photos would be great!

Re: MK2 Support won't stick

Supports can be an issue adhering to the bed, especially if they are quite sparse.

There are a few things you can do:

Increase density of supports
Print slower
Use Z-Lift
Add a brim to supports
Print with raft and brim

You may need to use more than one of the above, but you will have to test to see what works for you.

Personally if I want to ensure that I get a good print when using supports, I simply implement all the items listed. Yes, the print takes longer, but wasting a few hours is better than wasting a toll of filament...

I will give this a try thanks.

As for the top comments. I didn't post pics, cause i have tried a lot of different settings. I was mostly looking for ideas.

This is first layer sticking, the print itself works everytime, but i can't get the supports to print on the first layer at all.

I am going to try some of what is suggested here. I will get back if anything helps.

Re: MK2 Support won't stick

So i really carefully checked my aligments and calibration. I noticed the back right was a little off. So i tightened it a little.

Now it seems to work. It was a really minor difference, however it seems to be the thing.

i got the supports stuck and it all seems good. Thanks for the replies. (I also added the brim and whatnot.)
