Loosened wires from extruder

Hi - I had a bed adherence issue on my last print, so the nozzle ended up dragging the print around with it, creating a massive clog all over the extruder, which eventually dislodged the blue wires out from the extruder. That seemed to then cause a runaway heat issue. So it was fun.

My absolutely newbie question - how bad is this and how do I fix it? Do I need to replace the extruder or extruder motor? Also, I'm slightly worried about messing with it, since I bought it assembled and am concerned that I'll break it worse.

Any help or advice appreciated!

Can you post a picture of how it looks? Kinda hard to diagnose without seeing..

Blue wires are for the thermistor; these were broken which resulted in the thermal runaway error.

You will need to at least replace the thermistor, the most likely one for your printer is this: http://e3d-online.com/Electrical/Components/Thermistor-Cartridge

Peter,

Thanks very much. I'll try disassembling the extruder assembly. Hopefully, it's just the thermistor. It looks like it pulled out of the extruder motor, so I'm hoping it's simple.

On a related point, I'd welcome your thoughts and those of others on the underlying first layer adhesion issue. My only luck has been to use the glue stick pretty heavily. I get almost no adhesion just with the bed itself. Others have suggested hairspray? Even when I get it to stick, I end up getting pretty heavy warping, which makes me wonder if the room itself is too cold.

Anyway, thanks again for the answer!
