Intermittent Nozzle Clogs

Hi,
I have noticed this is quite a vast problem for many of you and I have posted in another thread which I think has gotten lost in the forum. I have been through the normal adjustments, hot pulls, cold pulls, nozzle cleaning with needle and brush, pulley alignment, fan checks, spool knots, etc... I have recently seen that some are setting there fan speeds to lower percentages and im wondering if the canned tune of the fan (100% all the time) is cooling the tip of the nozzle well below the 215 setting for PLA. It will print beautifully for anywhere from 20 min to 4 hours and then full clog. I normally have to remove the tensioner panel and yank the filament out with pliers, then refeed and everythings fine for a while. I would like to see if anyone has figured this out and if I should try lowering my fan speeds and if so which fans. Thanks.

Do the clogs happen with pre-sliced models, such as the castle or Adalinda?

I have solved all my clogging and underextrusion issues by replacing nozzle.
Old nozzle was used for a year, now replaced printer is printing with zero issues again.

I am lucky to get 2 months use from a nozzle... But it's cheaper and quicker to change the nozzle rather than messing about and having failed prints.

But in this instance, we need to find the cause of the clogs (slicer/model or hardware).

I encountered the same issue.
The issue for me was due to the filament. I only used prusa PLA so far, 2 spools.
I setup the printer, calibrated, live adjust Z (-850 or so) and everything was good.

But after some times all my prints where failing with filament not being able to flow through the nozzle, mid print or from the very beginning.
What I did is while the print begin, I changed live Z value from -850 to somewhere where it started to properly flow again, which was about -450.

I suspect the problem is filament being "modified" by humidity, I always leave the spool on the printer unprotected.

I hope this may help for solving your issues.

Thanks Julien,

BTW, I have solved the issue and it was indeed the Prusa brass colored PLA that was sent with my kit. I installed some green "Hatchbox" PLA and it is working great!! I hope this solves other people's issues faster than it solved mine. Also, As I went through this forum, I found others that had measured the filament along a 30' span or so and were seeing diameters ranging from 1.65 to 1.85mm. And, I checked Prusa's blog and found that he had mentioned filament suppliers were producing material way out of spec. He didnt refer to his specifically but Im guessing thats the case. Anyway Hatchbox seems to be reliable so far.
