First colorprint

Hej folks,

Recently I tried the colorprint option for the first time. Bottom in black PLA, top in Glow-In-The-Dark PLA, here's the result:

Came out nicely if I say so myself 🙂

During the filament change (which I apparently set for 1 layer too early, but that's no big deal), the printer beeped, issued an unload and waited. However, the unload didn't completely unload the filament, so I wanted to repeat that command, but is was lacking from the LCD menu.
In the end I simply cut the filament just above the extruder and issued the 'color not clear' command until it ran out and I could insert the second filament.
Did I miss the option somewhere, or is this a feature request to add the 'unload' option in the color switch menu?

Thanks 🙂

Re: First colorprint

This is an issue which others have had. In the latest firmware (3.0.8) the filament is unloaded very fast so that it doesn't leave blobs of filament in the extruder.

However, unloading at speed does require sufficient tension on the screws so that the filament does fully unload. If you don't have sufficient tension then the best solution is to loosen the screws and pull the filament out by hand (or with pliers), re-tension, load and continue.

Re: First colorprint

I second the motion to add "Repeat Unload" when changing filament.

Where in this forum one can one request new features?

Thanks.

Peter
