Firmware (3.06/3.07) Misbehavior after Unload-Load Filament
After the usual Unload-Load-Filament commands the Z-speed of the printer is dramatically reduced (about 1/10 of normal speed).
The speed returns to normal after Auto Home or Reset.
Is there a G-Code for manipulating the Z-speed?
Re: Firmware (3.06/3.07) Misbehavior after Unload-Load Filament
I'm seeing the same thing 🙁 Print takes much too long now....
Unfortunatelly Auto Home does not fix it at my machine (3.07)
Re: Firmware (3.06/3.07) Misbehavior after Unload-Load Filament
That would be because the printer uses the last set feed rate, which happens to be quite slow because it is the final part of loading the filament.
You can sen send a G1 Fxxx where xxx is the required feed rate in mm/minute

Re: Firmware (3.06/3.07) Misbehavior after Unload-Load Filament
Hi PJR,
Thanks for the help!
I'm new to printing so please forgive my next questions:
- To set it i would add the command to the sclicer starting sequence of commands right?
- What is the required feed rate for Prusa mk2?
Thanks!
Re: Firmware (3.06/3.07) Misbehavior after Unload-Load Filament
Manuel
The feed rate is calculated by the slicer program and inserted into the GCode files as required, assuming you are using the correct profiles and have not made excessive changes to them. It is not necessary for you to make any changes.
The slow feed rate is created when you are loading filament and will be set to the calculated rate as soon as you start a print.
Feed rates used for homing are separate and different from those used when printing or loading filament.

Re: Firmware (3.06/3.07) Misbehavior after Unload-Load Filament
I cant even unload my filament after upgrading to 3.07? When choosing unload filament it spins the shaft maybe 10 times and then it stops with a buzz?
Re: Firmware (3.06/3.07) Misbehavior after Unload-Load Filament
Yeah, I noticed that the unload feed rate is rather high at 7000mm/min. Although this is (just) within the maximum defined (120mm/sec) I don't think I would use that high a speed.
Personally, I just relieve the tension on the springs (pull back the part using its lever) and pull out the filament when the temperature has reduced somewhat.

EDIT: It unloads 80mm, so less than 1 second to unload. Firmware V3.0.5 used an unload speed of 400mm/min...

Re: Firmware (3.06/3.07) Misbehavior after Unload-Load Filament
Unload was made faster, so the filament wouldn't leave bits inside the nozzle. This reduces the risk of jamming.
Re: Firmware (3.06/3.07) Misbehavior after Unload-Load Filament
I've also noticed that the unload is definitely faster!
The fact is that if I don't pull a bit the filament by hand before choosing to unload the filament, the extruder motor just starts skipping and the filament is not removed completely.
The unload filament function in the multicolor layering instead was working perfectly (for pla), with a clean tip of filament getting out. I didn't tried with the new firmware, but the gcode for that seemed spot on
