Fillament getting stuck mid of print
Hi,
I have MK2 upgraded to S version
Recently I have problem with fiulament not getting through in the middle of the print.
I tried following
Print always starts ok but after short time the filament does not get through and motor pushing filament through starts skipping - see video
Any advice?
Re: Fillament getting stuck mid of print
Wow, you have tried a lot of things to fix, but I don't think you mentioned actually trying different filament, or playing with the extruder idler screws? I assume you have?
Re: Fillament getting stuck mid of print
I have tried different filaments like silver, black PLA same result, Idler screws loose or tight, nothing helped.
Filament simple does not get through.
I suspect when there is object with lot of retraction then this happens , like short didstances and short layers.
One suspicion I have about PTFE tube if it is moving up/down during retraction then it will create small blob on the filament in place where breakheat should be touching PTFE, the the diameter changes and filament does not get through anymore. but how to prevent that I don't know.
Re: Fillament getting stuck mid of print
What about when you print some of the original Prusa models, like the vase for instance? Same thing?
Re: Fillament getting stuck mid of print
Adding picture of the blob and pint sample printed on OPTIMAL profile , still same issue at certain height the fillament does not get through.
I upgraded ro 3.1 release and will try heat calibration, will see if that helps
Re: Fillament getting stuck mid of print
Do you use Octoprint?
i am asking because i have the same issue and thinking about Octoprint.

Have you read through this thread? https://shop.prusa3d.com/forum/original-prusa-i3-mk2-multi-material-f26/blockage-troubleshooting--t4643.html
It's specific to your problem and there are some solutions provided. What helped me was changing the noozle, something you didn't do I gather? Also depending on your filament, the prusa models have a too high temperature set, I have much less blockages with 195C than with the 215C the prusa gcodes are using.
