extruder motor won't turn [Solved]

I was trying out some TPE, which printed a beautiful batarang, then tried a Hodor door stop. On that go, the filament got tangled around around the extruder wheel and seized. After I cut it loose, it would not move anymore.

I tried to replug the motor on the x-axis terminal and it works fine, so I know the motor is ok. There appears to be no thermal damage anywhere on the ramps board. What else can I do?

Edit: Apparently the extruder motor won't turn until preheated. I just updated to latest firmware 3.0.10. The older version did not give a warning message. When i first tried it must have cooled down by the time I got all the filament loose.

Re: extruder motor won't turn

Perhaps the cold end got clogged? You will have to basically dismantle the extruder to check, though. But if you can't push filament through that seems the most likely cause (worst case would be damaged PTFE tube...).

I can't even get it to move in settings/move axis/move E. There is currently no filament in the extruder at all.

Hmm, so the stepper still works but only when connected to different pins? That suggests a problem with the Rambo board. I don't see how a tangled filament would cause that though, maybe it's unrelated?
