Extruder Assembly Plastic Warped/Melted

Hey!

I've not had my Prusa MK2S i3 for long (only a few months) but it appears as though the plastic holding together the extruder assembly has started melting/warping (see attached). This warping has affected the X-Axis endstop shoulder, because of a curve inside the shoulder it sometimes misses the endstop. Also, it looks like the PINDA probe has also been affected, and it no longer points directly down.

The printer has been great so far (only had it for 2-3 months)! Recently, I've had to regularly re-calibrate it in order to get decent prints, I wonder if this is why... I've not even finished using the PLA that came with the printer, and it's the only filament I have. Disappointing that the MK3 is coming out so soon after getting the MK2S BTW - hopefully support for the MK2S won't be deprioritized anytime soon!

Any suggestions on what might be wrong here? And what to do?

Cheers,
Alex

Re: Extruder Assembly Plastic Warped/Melted

Hi

Having the same issue with the x axis stop. It is also shaped inside. Did not notice until I ran a self test with the MK2S.
First was about the extrudes cables to bee a bit blocking against the last Millimeter to the endstop. Then I noticed the curvy plastic.
Maybe I should print this part again with a bit longer end to the endstop?

The recent prints I had massive issues with x axis offset. Shifting layer by layer to the right. Is this also caused by this endstop issue?

Regards

Dietrich
