Corner problems

Hi,

Reccently i bought a prusa i3 mk2s so i'm very new in this. I have a problem with the corners (in the attach img) when i try to print a small box. Is possible to avoid this?. I use cura to generate the .gcode.

Thanks!

Re: Corner problems

My 1st thought would be that your retraction might be somewhat or seriously to high.
Or maybe do you have a negative restart distance?
I am fine with just 0.5mm and rather slow 20mm/sec for both pla and petg with my MK2S ( no multi material)
I use an olsson ruby, with usual brass nozzle you maybe want it to increase to 0.8 or such

Re: Corner problems

It must be a slicer error. Have you tried to print a benchy? Does it look good?

Ah, you're in luck, sort of. I had that EXACT issue on something I designed and printed on a POS Geeetech printer I had, waiting for my Mk3 to arrive.

POS it may be, but the machine has never done that to me with S3D.

In short, I suspect CURA. I have a thread over there you can post in if you're trying to get it looked at: https://community.ultimaker.com/topic/21531-blobs-and-underextrusions-in-gcode/

There's some weirdness in the slicing there, I think it's effectively under extrusion since it's maybe not extruding without doing a retract, the structure left behind looks like stringing on supports.

I maintain an informal list of San Diego, CA 3D printing enthusiasts. PM me for details. If you include a contact email and I can add you to the informal mailing list.
