Copper E3D blocks with the same tips

Hello,

Has anyone else tried using the Cu blocks on their Prusa? I have and have noticed that I have had to increase printing speed to reduce the chances of expansion plugs happening during print of high detail layers that are further up a model (going from .100mm to .0500mm layers). So doing a print at the new speeds and really surprised at the smooth texture I am getting as well as smoothness of flow that seems to be coming out with the higher settings. base print speed is currently been moved up to 3.9m/min which is giving the results I see so so far. Will update further but was wondering if anyone else has run into this and is it similar when using a harden steel tip with the Cu blocks?

Any how hope everyone is having a great New year.

Sergey,

I find that if I run at speeds below 60mm/sec that I end up with a greater risk of heat creep and the clogs that heat creep causes jamming up th system. With the Copper block and the nickel plated copper extrusion tip I have found that i get really smooth print surfaces and flow with PLA (still dialing in a few other materials) at 3.9m/min (65mm/sec). This is using Prusa white, Rigid Ink PLA and PLA-Plus, also Filamentum PLA. I was wondering if other folks had found that increased feed rates with the Copper block gave improved results or not. Don't currently have any pictures that really show it well though should have in the near future.
