Interest in multimaterial

Hello, I'll introduce myseld.
I am a research engineer in a medical research unit in oncology.
We use a lot of 3D printing to make medical devices
and surgical ghosts.

We have two UM2 + extended and recently bought a UM3 extended.
But I am not satisfied with the result of the um3 with the materials we use.
It works very well with basic PVA / PLA materials, but not at all well
with anti-bacterial filaments and polysupport in multi-material printing.

do you think it is possible to adapt the multi-material to another printer?
ULTIMAKER 2 for example?

Re: Interest in multimaterial

Hi,

It's far beyond what i would be able to do on the hardware side for adaptation. And on the software side, it might be worst...?

MMU is really limited at the moment on the slicing side as well. Slicer PE for MMU has limited parameters and you can't use Cura.

get a MK3 + MMU, it's really affordable compare to Ultimaker 😉 . keep in mind that MMU is not easy to use, especially if you use different materials on the same print, with different printing temperature for instance...
