Filament not going out when printing ( but not blocked )

Hi all
I have a MK2S with MMU installed.
Since MMU install, filament is not going out WHEN PRINTING. Tried of course to unmount and check any potential miss but seems everything is ok on that side.

Why am I stating this ,
Manually, if I do :

1 - Settings – temperature – hotend – set to 215
2 - Wait proper temperature
3 - Load filament 1 – ok
4 - Settings, move axis – extruder – increase by 50 as ex -> I can see hot PLA going out

BUT When then I try to print the calibration print in PLA, nothing is going out.
😯
Any insights ?
Thanks !

You need to be our eyes better.

When printing the Calibration file, and "nothing is coming out", is the extruder motor moving? Is it making a clicking sound?
Is the head moving correctly?

Try this file:

Hi,

I am having a similar problem, except that there is no filament came out even when I use Setting --> Move Axis --> Extruder option.
And of course same case when I tried printing anything including the calibration gcode.

Extruder motor works fine, smooth loading & unloading filament process.
But when the filament arrives the hotend or where it supposed to start melting, the motor do has "clicking" sound and looks like the filament cannot go further. I even tried removing the multiplexer and insert the filament by hand, but it cannot come out from the nozzle neither.

I tried using the small needle given in the MK2S Kit, it goes through the nozzle hole easily and does not seem to be blocked.
I really don't know what I can do now...honestly quite disappointed for having this upgrade, but still looking forward to a solution, thank you.

Hello Aaron,
Thanks for answering 😀
during printing, filament in the extruder is moving yes. There is as well a regular click sound as well
I used your Calibration test print file
at the begining, there is no filament extracted then after a while, it start going out
result in picture below :

I need to print some "biffer" thing to be sure that filament is ok when I reach the real print part ?
Thx!

This is likely a block in the metal tubes in the Y adapter. See threads on that topic.

You can either reduce the retraction at the end of the test line in the Start GCode
G1 E-4 F1000.0
Which retracts 4mm after doing the line.

AND/OR

You can print a larger skirt (recommend)

AND/OR

You can modify the start gcode to do a beefier line at the start.

I use this calibration file to set my Live Z on the MMU.

Hi Aaron ,
Thx for he answers.
I performed multiple tests and seems that I'm still having an issue somewhere 😕
the test print was working fine , so I change filament ( wood, is it the problem ? ) , and started to print "Groot" Face.
to be sure, I checked that the beginning of the print was ok .. which was
Back a day later, filament has stopped going out ...
https://ibb.co/mxFxaw with the head 15 cm above of course

tried to unload the filament but it was blocked ( unload filament does nothing, I hear the motor moving but filament remains blocked )
Any insight ??

Other question, for your test print code : why heating at 170, wait and then start the print at the beggining ? we usually pre-heat bed and nozzle, so why decreasing to 170, for getting back to 210++ after ?
Thx !!
