Uneven vertical surface on long prints

Hi all,

I'm having an issue (as far as I remember) with my MK2, it's doing great print (I think) but for some reason when the print is high, it get this uneven vertical finish.

Here are some picture of the problem, it should be easier to understand.

I've printed both models separately, and as you can see it appears at the same height, I've seen this on other prints too.

Do you guys have any clue what could cause this ?

Thank you in advance for the help 🙂

PS: Sorry for my approximate explanation, I don't know exactly how to define or name this problem.

Re: Uneven vertical surface on long prints

This is the starting position of the layer.

Maybe you can play with the settings for better result :

Slic3r
Print Settings
Layers and perimeters
Advanced
Seam position

It could be model related. To elimnate the possibiliy, try to repair using Netfabb service or try with other model.

It is retraction related. Recently I assambled new printer and had similar problem. Extruder gear was not fixed correctly and there was no retraction. When extruder retracts, the motor goes backwards.
