Prusa PETG Globs

I recently purchased Prusa transparent blue PETG filament. 1st layer goes well, but I keep getting globing that prevents the print from completing successfully. The globs, once cooled, interfere with movement and cause random upper layer shifting. Black PETG filament from esun worked fine with the same settings. I tried drying in an oven for several hours. lowering extrusion rate and reducing the z offset.

Re: Prusa PETG Globs

Hey Tyson,

as I ordered the exsact same filament I am a bit concerned about the "globs" you are having trouble with. Would you be so kind to supply me with some example pictures and explain what you tried to dry in the oven (part or filament).

As soon as I do the first prints with the filament, I will give you my settings and the result.

Till then.

Re: Prusa PETG Globs

Jonas,
I had sometime to fiddle with my printer and found a cable interference that was causing the upper layer shift. I also found a broken wire on the front cooling fan. I made the repairs and almost through my first print and it seems to be going well. I'm sorry to cause you concern with your purchase. I have found that the Z axis needs to be higher with PETG compared to PLA.
Thanks,
Tyson
