Improving Radius Edges
Hi, printing bowls and larger radius edges never turn out well Supports do not seem to help at all.
The lid was printed top down onto the bed.
Thanks.
The Slicer can't fit support under the lower part of the curve - there is no room.
When designing for 3d printing avoid fillets and use chamfers instead.
Cheerio,

Thanks, I guess printing bowls is just not a thing then.

Thanks Diam

Or use sanding.
E.g. a bowl I designed: The problem is inherent, I made the color thicker at the edge to allow sanding
The green one comes straight from the printer (still shows some traces from supports). The red bowl in the background has been sanded, and this could be done more diligently (most importantly, wet).
... but these would also print better if the curve was replaced with a chamfer.
Cheerio,

Here it comes... but after sanding, the original one might look better.
The main challenge with sanding is, I'm too lazy to actually do it 🙂
But that aside, it's pretty cool that the 3d printer can create real structured material, to a given depth.
