Live adjust only goes downward, not up

Whenever I start a print and get ready to set live adjust on the first layer, I can only bring the nozzle downward toward the bed (negative number on the LCD), but no matter how much I turn the dial clockwise, the number never goes above 0.000 and my nozzle never goes up. This of course means that if my nozzle is too close to the bed and my filament is getting squished, I can never raise the nozzle and my first layer gets squished.
I realize I can probably increase the z offset, but I'd like to know why I can't get live adjust to go over 0.000 anymore.
I've only started experiencing this issue maybe a month or two ago... Never had a problem with this before.
Thanks!

Hi Malek,
If you 'need' a Positive Live Z value, it means that your Pinda is too high and you risk the probability of scratching, or gouging your PEI sheet before you get the chance to do any live Z adjustment,

Hi Joan, thanks for your response, and I know exactly what you're saying, but that isn't my issue. What I'm trying to understand is why live adjust won't go into the positive like it used to. I've never gouged the bed because I can easily compensate for the low nozzle using several means. But even if I don't, it still wouldn't go into the bed because the nozzle isn't THAT low. It's just usually slightly lower (around 0.1mm) than I'd like, which would cause ripples in my first layer if I didn't use any z offsets. Also, my PINDA has always been in this position since I assembled the machine 1.5 years ago, exactly where the instructions told me to put it, so I know that's perfect.
This seems like a bug in the most recent firmware update perhaps?

Hi Malek,

it's more likely that the positive value option was the bug...

best wishes, Joan

My MK3 and MK2S both will not go into the +0.000 range. It shouldn't ever need it.
Typical Z height is around (-0.600)- (-0.700).... giving you 600-700 microns to move up.
If you are starting lower than -0.200 I would move the pinda down.... even if it is different from the way it always has been
Why would you need to move the nozzle up so high? That's what Z offset is for if you are trying to use glass or some other buildplate surface

Anything can be made better
