Heater cartridge wire glowing
I was changing my nozzle today and noticed (for the first time) that one of the heater cartridge wire started to glow (bright yellow at one spot) if I moved the block slightly. The other wire seems fine, so I'm guessing it's not being short circuited, but still, something must have been burning as I can see the marks now:
I'm guessing the only thing I can do is orde a new one? It's still heating up, temp. is stable etc. Any idea what might have caused this?
Re: Heater cartridge wire glowing
Same exact thing just happened to me. I changed out the nozzle and when i started the preheat, I noticed the glowing from the heater cartridge. I immediately shut it off, but now the hotend won't heat properly. I guess I'm going to replace the heater cartridge and hopes that solves it.
