BAD bearings and balls falling out, terrible service from support

Finally got around to start building my i3 Mk2S

Half way through and cant build anymore bearings falling apart and scratchy and making grooves in rod really disappointing with  the quality and lots of complaints about this issue.

Was hoping support could help but Alberto was just rude, told me that during his 9 hr days he has to deal with issues far more problematic and my bearings are just minor!!!!

Not for me they are not my $799 printer even though out of warranty is buggered with known faulty bearings!!

Well done Alberto from chat, upset customers only = no more spending and loss of customers

The Mk2S is a couple years old, so even if not built/used, it isn't fair to expect warranty replacement of parts. You can buy the original bearings in the Prusa Shop for about $15 for a full set of 10 pieces. Or just search for LM8UU and you'll find tons of suppliers of better or worse quality bearings for cheap. If you want really good ones, then Misumi LMU8 is a more expensive, but fully compatible alternative. If your rods are scratched already, you may need to replace them, too.

For most commercial equipment, extended warranty and support (chat, email or telephonic) beyond the 1st year runs 15% of list price per year for 8x5 next business day (they don't have to call you back until the next business day) support. For a $700 printer, that's about $105 per year. No equipment is sold with an unlimited lifetime support agreement. The warranty starts when delivered, not when you decide to open the box.

If they spent time with you, even if just to tell you replacement of those bearings is trivial, they've done more than they're obligated to do. Prusa provides firmware and part updates well beyond their legal obligation to do so, and certainly beyond anything offered by most of the competition. It's not like the printer is trashed.

As to their attitude, I find the tone I use affects the tone I get back.
