24 AWG stepper wire replacement
I’m having intermittent issues with one or more wires to the extruder stepper motor, seems like I damaged them somewhere along the way and need to replace them. Since these are labeled 24 AWG and since I have lots of 24 AWG stranded Ethernet cable, can anyone think of a reason not to use it as a replacement other than the colors might not be OEM.
Thanks!
Re: 24 AWG stepper wire replacement
cat5 cable typically has 1 or 7 filaments of copper, neither of which are good for 3d printers
flexible 24 awg cable typically has 45 filaments, making it much more flexible

Thx Joan, I'll dig into the wallet and buy the right stuff and wait for it!
Re: 24 AWG stepper wire replacement
I am having a weekend away from my printer,
if the new Pinda dsoen't arrive next week, I'll patch out the existing cable with whatever is to hand, to get me going for a couple of days...
But I am also going to order some flexible wire to have on hand, because it is only a matter of time, before things start failing, I have already had to replace the heat bed cables on both my Mk2 and Mk3... and the Pinda on My Mk2... I have a spare Mk2 one, but it won't fit the Mk3...
I also ordered a load of spares so I can do my own diagnostics... been in electronics and electromechanical equipment for a long time... unfortunately that means zilch if you don't have a video camera.
