ABS Print Settings Help

I'm working on dialing in my print settings for ABS. I'm happy with how it handles most things except tall/thin structures. See attached photos. I tried slowing the print speed way down (20 from 40 mm/s) getting the exact same results. For some reason, filament is building up on the edges and ruining the print. Any ideas on which setting I should tweek?

Re: ABS Print Settings Help

abs has difficulties to evacuate heat on small surfaces.
possibilities:
- set minimum time per layer to 60s
- add some fan speed when the 60s per layer is reached
those 2 parameters are somewhere in filament settings of slic3r.
- print at least two parts at different corner of the bed. then one part can cool when the other is printed. some small parts i print 10 at a time.

For some reason prusa's version of slic3r won't let you change that setting. But you last point led me to make a very small sacrificial pillar on the opposite end of the print bed. Worked like a charm! Thanks for the help.
