Stiffening the extruder cable 3mm - alternatives to 3mm nylon?

The 3mm nylon filament used to stiffen my extruder cables finally broke. I have some old 3mm filaments lying around, but only in PLA, ABS and NGEN and these become too brittle over time and break.

I don't really want to order a spool of 3mm nylon just for the sake of using 50cm or so.

Has anyone come up with a good alternative? 💡

Thanks!

Phil

Get a sample of nylon off ebay or your local filament supplier
If you can make an adapter from metal
Use ptfe tube

@Joan: Many thanks for having taken the time to reply. Unfortunately, getting a $8 nylon sample delivered to Switzerland costs in excess of $40 and local shops only sell spools of the stuff (I had already checked). Using a PTFE tube is intriguing - I'll definitely give it some thought.
