Selftest: Y endstop wiring error
Hello. I just finished assembly my first MK2 (my first 3D printer) today. Whew! I'm glad that part is done! 😀
However, I am failing the selftest with the error "Endstops Wiring error Y". In selftest, the fan tests pass and when it starts checking X,Y,Z, it immediately moves the Y axis forward (away from the endstop) a couple of millimeters then presents this error. It doesn't check the X endstop or hotend. It doesn't even trigger the Y endstop.
Any ideas of what I can check? I've looked at the Y endstop and it's wiring. All appear to match the images from the manual. I've attached a photo and here is a link to a video of the behavior: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2W48avQarZeQ0dBWnFsRnQtT0E/view?usp=drivesdk

I thought possibly I had the Y axis belt too tight so I actually removed the belt but it did not change the behavior. Then I thought, well lets swap the X & Y endpoints on the Rambo and see what happens. The self test went further this time! It checked the hotend and then tried to check the X axis and (correctly) threw an error about the x endstop when it triggered the endstop but didn't stop. So, would this happen if my Y endstop is just bad? How would I test that? I get continuity through the endstop (checked with a multimeter) when the button is partially depressed but lose it once the button "clicks". At a resting state, there is no continuity.

So, the X endstop has continuity except for when the switch is fully depressed. The Y endstop's continuity is erratic. I'm pretty certain I have a bum switch now. Does that sound logical?

Check the cable and the connector.
You may have pinched the cable with a cable tie or ont of the connector pins may not be fully home in the connector bode.

Mine has the same error now after about 1 month of use.

I wanted to add some information regarding observations. If I switched the wires of the Y end switch to the x end switch connection the x motor stalled in the fashion the Y had previously.
I am wondering if there could be an issue with the actual wires supplying the motor or switch. Is there a way to determine this and then what can be done?
