Hello. I’m not sure where to post but I have a box with orange pieces
I try to go online to look up what the orange stuff is (I’ll provide a pic) and etc. But I realize that the printer I have had a diagonal bar while others do not. Is it put together wrong? When I look up the words below, the diagonal piece isn’t diagonal (I tried showing you in yellow lines)
I have a box of orange different pieces. Can you please tell me what these are? The box doesn’t say what they are (another box says ‘motors’ on it but this box with orange pieces doesn’t say anything). Are these pieces an upgrade kit or something? Or are these just like for decoration?
RE: Hello. I’m not sure where to post but I have a box with orange pieces
The diagonal bars are a community instigated upgrade, designed to make the main frame, more rigid.
the orange parts appear to be the parts for a multi material unit version 1 (MMU1)
a 4 filament automatic filament changer
Mine, doesn't have the extra diagonal braces that yours has.

Oh so it’s not built wrong, it just has extra braces. Cool
oh so it’s like an upgrade kit? ‘It is supposed to print only one color but u assemble and make it do more than one’? Oh cool
thank you
Now that I know what it is, I can look how to assemble it.

RE:
Yo! Thank you so much!
my dad (who knows how to build stuff.. but doesn’t know about 3d printers) and my friend (who kinda knows how to build stuff and gave up with this one I have and bought brand new one and knows about 3d printers and the program and etc) will eventually try to get it to work. Friend tried to do it but it looked like below
(and thus gave up) and dad tinkered with it but didn’t have filament to test it) but I actually now notice the filament wasn’t in tune so maybe that’s a what’s wrong? Idk. All I know it does ‘print’ (as you see above) so hopefully dad and friend can fix it up
Anyway
thanks again!

have you seen the MMU1 user guide
https://www.prusa3d.com/downloads/manual/prusa3d_manual_mk2mm_en.pdf?2
as the printer has not been used for a while, it is probably wise to re run the configuration wizard
https://help.prusa3d.com/article/configuration-wizard_1754
A factory reset may be a good idea before before re configuration
the Prusa first layer configuration (Live Z adjustment) tool is, in my opinion, hard to use, I prefer
'Life Adjust Z My way' by Jeff Jordan

good luck, Joan

>> filament wasn’t in tune
Note, most materials are moisture sensitive. Maybe get a spool of fresh PLA to rule that out (don't throw them away, with few exceptions they can be dried. But, fight one battle at a time).
