Supports not working

I was trying to print this file this morning and I couldn't add supports inside purse slicer.

I was printing it with the largest diameter on the bed and I had purse slicer add supports from bed only and it would only add supports on the very middle of the object, it was adding supports for the threads through the middle of the object.

I tried to do the paint brush and it wouldn't do anything so I downloaded the stl again from my  online account and then I tried the paint brush again and it allowed me to show where I wanted supports but when I sliced the part the supports didn't show up, it added the supports on the very center of the part as it did before for the threads.

What am I missing?

RE: Supports not working

There is a parameter "Don't support bridges" in the Support Material settings, that should do what you want. In general, supports are not necessary for the whole object, because printer can print the "bridges" quite well even without supports.

Thanks Milos,

I had never come across that before and your suggestion did the trick.
