Unexpected selftest failure

I've been using my 2.5 regularly recently & it's been printing perfectly. When I powered it up to print something this morning, the printhead *shuddered* for 5-6 seconds on the left side of the X-axis & then did its normal pre-printing positioning routine and started printing a brim for a piece. It tried to print the brim off the edge of the surface. I ran a self test & it 'shuddered' again for a few seconds and got a 'Endstop not hit    Motor X' failure.

It's acting like the x-axis belt has slipped several cogs but it's too tight for that to happen.

Any thoughts?

RE: Unexpected selftest failure

OK, this is embarrassing to admit but this was a self-inflicted error. I was focused on the belt and pulley and never looked at the back of the motor. One of the rear  screws that secure the motor had loosened & backed out to where it was hitting the frame. 5 second fix & we're back to printing. I love my printer!

Thanks to everyone that took the time to look at my post!
