Mk3s MMU2 Sudden under extrusion

Hey all I have been asking this alot on the forums and gotten a bunch of suggestions of what to do but none of them have seemed to work.

Currently when I try and print it can print fine for the first few layers but then it starts to under extrude heavily and if I let it continue all extrusion cease.

I have tried: Both increasing and decreasing the temperature, tightened and loosened the bondtech gears, lubed old ptfe tubes, bought new ptfe tubes and tried to see if it was friction from those, but non of them seems to have fixed or even approved the outcome. I Think I have managed to narrow it down to be something with the hotend. pushing the filament through it takes quite a bit of force and taking it apart and reassembling it have not worked Nozzle is not clogged either as I have tried to do various cold pulls with nothing coming out.

are there any suggestions of what I should try? Short of buying a whole new hotend

once again thanks for your help and suggestions

RE: Mk3s MMU2 Sudden under extrusion

Have you checked the hotend heater? If the heater starts to fail, it will cool down and stop extrusion before eventually setting a Thermal Runaway fault.  If you stop the print when the extrusion fails, it might not get to Thermal Runaway.

Sometimes the displayed hotend temperature will seem erratic.  You can check the resistance of the heater element at the EinsyRambo.
