how to tell why XYZ failed

been using my 2.5 for a while with zero issues. printed something last night that came out great. tried to print something this afternoon and kept getting z failed problem encountered enforced error - so i tracked that down to a weakened area on PINDA v2 wire. so I repaired it and it passes now and identifies metal when it is supposed to and doesn't other-times.

unfortunately, in my troubleshooting I reset everything and now it is failing XYZ calibration after the completion of the 4 spot. 

if i do mesh bed leveling, it works no issues

if I do z height calibration, it works no issues

if I do the wizard it passes all the tests up to the xyz calibration.

so i can't tell why it is failing because it just says failed xyz check the manual.

on current FIRMWARE 3.13.3, even tried to roll back to one prior FIRMWARE 3.13.0 and  no different.

I have ordered a new pinda despite it passing all the tests and working in mesh bed leveling and z-height

but is there anything else i can check? any other way to get diagnostics for why xyz failed other than check the manual?

without knowing the article was there. yes i have done all of the things listed. the only thing that is listed at the bottom is that pinda may be bad which is where i am now since i had a functional device 2  days ago with no changes. i know the pinda wire was damaged from fatigue but repairing that would not shift the whole xyz calibration out of spec especially after working fine for 8+ years. saw a few people have stated similar issues and Pinda passes the 0/1 test but replacing the probe fixes the issue which doesn't make any sense so i am trying to rule our other issues while awaiting arrival of my new probe.

replaced pinda today and no changes. still fails with same error

At this point I'd suspect the Einsy board itself, or at least the connector.

For your sake I hope I'm wrong also, I just replaced the Rambo on my Mk2.5s.  But since the Pinda is a 1 bit device either on, or off, unless the new one is DOA then either the Pinda isn't getting enough power, or the board isn't seeing the on/off.

Doing my first layer calibration now!! 

 

Checked mounting screws for all  axis, x had to screws that I wouldn't say were loose but weren't finger tight. I adjusted those. Also made a very slight tweak to y axis belt based on some tension it seemed to have at futherthest extremes. Checked Z axis and snuggled those up. 

 

Adjust pinda one last time to ~0.7mm and it worked. 

Not sure why it changed other than just hours and hours of use. 

 

I guess other than the hours wasted troubleshooting and the fact that I deleted all the stats on my printer no real harm
