Can we use Mk3 frame with Mk2.5 upgrade
Greetings of the day!
I am interested in knowing that, can we use the mk3 frame with mk2.5 upgrade kit .To me it seems quite possible .I think I do need a modified y axis motor holder with end stop provision .Rest I think is quite swap-able.
I am asking because a lot of mk3 frames are available from china now and upgrading the mk2 to mk2.5 with the mk3 frame seems quite promising in terms of rigidity .
kindly share your kind responses.
Re: Can we use Mk3 frame with Mk2.5 upgrade
you can do whatever you want with the frame. wood, steel, aluminum.... just watch as some are "melamine". No idea on the accuracy of the holes of the frame but i guess you can let us know how it works out.... you need the frame and extrusion. bed plate not so much.
There is also the bear mod where you drill holes in your existing frame and add extrusions... that's probably cheaper.

Yes , I know it’s possible in terms of parts .But my major concern is the length of extrusion. Is there a way out to calculate the length required for extrusions or it’s just a hit and trial thing .

Sorav.. im trying to use mk3 frame with mk2.5. What y motor holder did you use so u could attach end stop?
Re: Can we use Mk3 frame with Mk2.5 upgrade
Would also really love to know what you did for the Y-axis Limit Switch.
Has anyone seen a Y-axis motor mount for and MK3 Frame with a spot for a MK2.5 Y-axis limit switch?

I have used the y motor mount from the above link.
Re: Can we use Mk3 frame with Mk2.5 upgrade
I've done it myself. I went the other route and made the Y motor adapter mount the switch in the correct spot so no belt modifications required. I also made a simple PS spacer to mount it in the correct position for the stock parts,

I want to make a stronger motor mount at some point but it's been working fine.
