Have you checked your order or asked support to look at your order? Guess you don't need a guess....

I try to give answers to the best of my ability, but I am not a 3D printing pro by any means, and anything you do you do at your own risk. BTW: I have no food for…

Yes, apparently it is sourced from the FilamentPM group.  I can confirm it's the same stuff.  Both the US and UK FilamentPM online stores usually have it in stock.

I'm irritated. Hasn't Prusa made already before 2020 a big fuzz abiut making their own filament "Prusament" to make sure it's perfect? Sourcing stuff elsewhere had in my recollection not been mentioned... But I might just get old.

Cheers

RE: What is the original filament that is sent with the Prusa MK3?

Well, there's PrusaMENT, the in-house made higher-end filament, and then there's Prusa (brand, non-ment) filament, which may or may not be, but probably not made in house.

The only PrusaMENT filaments I've used are the orange PETg and the PC Blend, and they both print very well.  The main reason I don't order more Prusa (MENT and non-ment) filaments is that they are an ocean away (as in several days transit time) and far more expensive considering the to-the-door bottom line.

When I got my Prusa printer kit, I assumed that the included filament was PrusaMENT, and I used the Prusament PLA profile in PS for it and it printed fine, only to learn that it was actually outsourced.  NBD, actually, it's good stuff, and I consider it to be the gold standard when doing a calibration of the machine.

I always have it on hand and use it semi-regularly for various prints.

RE:

@jsw, thank you; I had no idea about that difference. I never use Prusa´s filaments (three years ago I bought a spool of orange PETG to match my printer´s parts but that´s been that; since then, after some very unpleasant experiences with stuff from Extrudr and Fillamentum, I use Spectrum Filaments from Poland and could not be more pleased with their stuff (particularly ASA, Nylon and TPU).

Cheers
