Re: On The Way

Looks like things have ground to a halt...I have been waiting for the 2.5 upgrade since 3 November 2017 and
my printer has been out of action since then...

Think perhaps Prusa have earned a new award...

Re: On The Way

My list also grows: I have an MK2/S 2.5 upgrade on order and now also a MMU 2.0 upgrade...

Good thing is, that my printer now works fine again after removing the MMU 1.0 upgrade, so I can easily print until end of 2018, when the orders might have shipped.

You mean since mid january? because they were pre-order in november so delays would start then... so 2 months delayed or so. also a non-working printer is unrelated despite the obvious delays in the upgrade. it does require a working machine or someone else's to print the parts.

the real issue is lack of updates... like "hey, we got a bad batch of heat beds and our powder coating isn't working well..." would be nice when they know instead of way later.

Re: On The Way

Granted but when I placed the order it included the printed parts - even offered an option for the colours...and shipping
was scheduled for January as you mentioned.

The question I am asking myself is that if I knew (in 13 days) nearly 6 months would have gone by with no progress
would it have been quicker to have just ordered a replacement heat bed?

I am also reading about problems with quality with the Mk3 extruder, doesn't inspire one with confidence...and I have yet to
find a way to print the required parts

Re: On The Way

I am afraid you misread that.

The parts have always been print yourself for upgrades. They just supply the filament.

The color you picked was strictly for what color filament they send you to print your own parts. That being said there's only 2 pieces and one needed to be black for the filament sensor so they ended up just sending black to everyone anyways.

And if you need the parts printed and are in US or Canada feel free to shoot me a PM. If you want to cover shipping I can print and send you a set.

That's very helpful, thank you - unfortunately I am in the UK

If my upgrade ever arrives I am going to have to try and install the new heat bed (mine is damaged) and then try and print all the new parts with the existing extruder but am not confident I have to say...

I am frustrated because I have invested a fair amount of money in what is now an expensive paperweight, perhaps in hindsight it would have been better to cancel the 'upgrade' and just order a new heat bed but there is always the temptation to wait one more week for good news...

I can see I am not the only one getting frustrated

I can help you out with the parts. Not currently in the UK, but I will be there next week and I can ship them to you if you still need them. I doubt I will be needing them anytime soon so I have time to reprint if my upgrade ever shows up.

Damaged as it don't heat up? or something else? you don't need a heat bed with PLA either so you could easily compensate by using PLA temporarily..... what's wrong with the extruder? did you drop the printer? what exactly have you been doing to it? blob build up and damaged the bed too? you don't get a new extruder either... so....

Re: On The Way

Damaged the PCB tracks getting a print off - the heat bed gives me 'thermal runaway messages' on any temperature greater than 55 odd and the PEI is damaged in the centre of the bed.

I have had a replacement bed thermistor, replacement power supply, replacement heat bed cable and even tried wiring the heat bed supply (via a MOSFET) directly to the power supply but no luck...yes, I can replace the PEI sheet once again, and print everything on PLA, and then re-print the parts again using these parts on PETG (or PET or whatever it is they supply!) if the upgrade ever arrives

After all the expense I was hoping not to have to go through the aggravation (again) of replacing the PEI sheet - if I can fit the new heated bed this will avoid this.

No, I haven't dropped the printer...

I read this forum regarding using mk2.5 plate on mk2s printer. Check this out if this can help you.

And this is with 100% prepayment. This is so wrong.
Will absolutely make my decisions about spending money here further, based on this.
