Preheat error after MK2.5 upgrade

Hello,
I just upgraded my MK2S to MK2.5, with an E3D metal hotend. When trying to heat the hotend to 285 C to tighten the nozzle, around 200 C I get a Preheat error. I checked the wires, and everything looks fine (also, no probs at lower temperatures). Does anyone know what is going on and how I can fix this?
Thanks a lot, Jan-Maarten

RE: Preheat error after MK2.5 upgrade

I just got my MK2.5 running after the upgrade as well.

Trying to preheat the nozzle to 215.

I too get a preheat error. The bed is preheating fine, but the hotend just creeps up slowly. Probably a timeout in the firmware as it took too long.

It got as high as 150 before giving the error and shutting down.

Anyone got toughts on this? Got the same problem, but wont go up to more then 130-140 dg. Also got issues with the heatblock fan. It turn itself on only on cooldown..

RE: Preheat error after MK2.5 upgrade

I have solved this, for my part anyway.

Seems i have by a mistake (when switching nozzle) done the masterpiece of screwing the heatsink all the way back to back into the heaterblock, causing the left side fan to cool down both my heatsink AND heaterblock, making it very hard to reach any good printing temperatures. So always make sure the gap between the heatsink/heatblock/nozzle is according to spec.

On the other hand i learned that the fan is able to cool down the heatsink very efficient.
