RE:
Man I hope I don’t get these problems. You mention about the flickering nozzle lights. I contacted support about that exact issue what seems like a year ago, and they said it’s nothing to worry about and normal. Now it might be connected to this extruder issue? I sure hope not
RE: Xl extruder stops
The problem is currently gone. But I can already see the symptoms. (flickering nozzle lighting that gradually increases) that it's only a matter of time before the problem occurs again. And yes, the cable is like yours. It's the same for everyone, because it's standard. Nobody has it tight.
To all those who are happy that changing the plug cover has solved their problem. Have fun. Because the problem will return over time. It is only a question of time. I've been through this game 4 times already. It always goes well for a while and then gradually gets worse again.
So you've changed the plug to the new design and still had problems?
Also do you have slack in your plug cord like I've shown in my pictures?
FYI I have not had the issue and have been printing fine for a year now. Just trying to figure out why some have the problem and some don't.
The LED flickering isn't related. They all do that. I think that's just cheap LEDs.
When you assemble the printer you run those cords, so there is no guarantee that there is slack. That's why I was asking.
You still haven't answered, are you using the new plug design with the screws.
RE: Xl extruder stops
No they dont. We have 2 XL at work and none of them have any flickering. Its not Normal.

RE: Xl extruder stops
I strongly suspect that it does, but it is very noticeable that the flickering increases first and is always followed by the extruder stopping. In my Case the flickering was sometimes very strong. Not just a little bit, very strong.

RE:
Here you can see the flickering AND stopped extruder. After the reconnect etc both was gone for a long while. This intensity is not normal. Especially as many had also reported that the extruder stops only occurred with the flickering nozzles. Just like mine.
flickering and stoped extruder
RE: Xl extruder stops
I've never had the extruder stop and mine all flicker. So I disagree that they are related.
RE: Xl extruder stops
Then you've probably been lucky so far. Let's hope it stays that way for you.

I suspect in your case it's flickering because the plug is coming loose. I'm my case there's something wrong with the LEDs.
RE: Xl extruder stops
I'm almost certain the flickering LEDs have nothing to do with the extruder stopping.
I replaced the buddy board and it still flickers but I've been in 50+ hours with no issues. I printed the connector plug just as an extra precaution and still haven't had issues. As another member asked, have you changed the connector plug?

RE: Xl extruder stops
YES I HAVE.
It has 1000% to do with it. But think what you want. 😘

Will do buddy, I'll keep printing with my flickering LED tool head. 🥰
RE: Xl extruder stops
OK, so I printed the new dwarf cover and plug cover. There was a little hand fitting with a needle file for the best fit. Printed a few hours, so far so good. Even the LED lights have stopped flickering. At the moment all is good. Now if it will just stay that way...
