Sad to say I got my email today for another preorder I had for an XL single tool model . After the last 4 weeks of battling with my Multi tool version I got , I have cancelled this order . After the multiple issues I have had and working with support only to find it was pre assembled components that have been giving me issues from cross threaded screws , the 3D printed parts having burrs in them causing filament drag , random layers , over extruding , real bad blistering for no reason . ( I know what your thinking , moist filament ? No .. the XL is in a workshop with 17 other Prusa Machines and those same filament rolls were used on the MK3 and MK4 and it printed perfectly.)
I’m hoping after some more back and forth with them I can get this machine functional as intended and put into print farm rotation, but right now my other pre-Orders are being cancelled . Hopefully this will free up a couple orders for those you still waiting and I hope you have much better experience .
My only advice will be CHECK the machine over completely before usage , any factory assembled parts fully examine them .

one of the reasons why people choose prusa-material is exactly the knowledge that the equipment is solid and thrustworthy.
it seems the rush of getting all those printers shipped asap, is influencing the quality.
i have no doubt that you know what you are talking about. With a printfarm and multiple prusa-printers as your tools, you have gotten familiar withthe usual prusa-quality.
i hope it get’s fixed asap.

Can't agree more with the rest... Rush is killing the brand... I'm sorry for them. China competition is fierce and mercyless.

Now that we're at it, since the MK4 shares the nextruder, everyone that has tested the XL with a few prints so far, have you had any issues yet with your filament sensor OR you haven't had any spool run out yet?

I said: "We've been told 'soon' for months now. Is 'soon' days, weeks, or months?"
Reply was: "We are working towards it not being more than a few weeks."
Not particulary promissing nor enlightening.
I did add: "OK, thanks. I suppose I don’t need to tell you just how frustrated we XL pre-order Prusa fans are getting." I suspect Support is as tired of people asking "when?" as we are of waiting.

I am getting my semi-assembled dual-head XL today. I think it really shouldn't be that long for you then. Honestly when I preorded it I though to myself "Ohh boy this will take a while" and then came Corona and Supply issues everywhere, so in that regarding I think they handled it alright. It is a very ambitious project - especially the multi head part.
Of course what they will deliver needs to work.

OK, not your fault, but that really pisses me off. Especially if they start shipping spare heads anytime soon. That they have no idea when 5 head units will ship really is not cool.
I was mistaken! I ordered a dual-head printer. They're shipping all the way to April orders on those.
I contacted support to ask about changing to a five tool head printer. I was told to just not complete the order until the option is available. They referred me to this article and said I'll have to wait until the five tool printers are shipping around my order date. I'll wait and see how long it takes.

I just got my email and placed the order for a semi-assembled dual-head XL, ordered 3:56pm on 18-Nov. Shipping to the UK is £50 (I've added some filament to the order).

For me it they took 5 days to ship it. I also ordered some other stuff, like filament and nozzles (and a hoody).

Well i pulled the trigger on canceling my order. This was due to lack of funds at this time as I now have 2 kids.

So the five head semi assembled have been shipping for three weeks and lesser units have been shipping for awhile. Frankly, they must have a pretty big problem supplying heads because for single head units are shipping NOV 22 orders and dual head April 22 orders.
The five-tool semi-assembled printers are shipping already (shipping started in the week of August 7th). We are switching pre-orders placed on November 18th, 2021.
Meanwhile, Day 1 orders from other people languish.

At this point I’d risk private equity taking over the place if they’d put competent management in place.

I was emailed on the 23rd and immediately converted my pre-order (dual-semi #16372473xx). Now, a week later, the order is still in "new" status. I suspect they allowed a bunch of first day orders to be converted just to keep people quiet (and get the money in). This is unlike CW's experience when they shipped his immediately (on August 4th). I think that was so they could say they "began shipping dual-semi in the week of July 31st" as promissed. Maybe got 3 out the door.
Another theory I have is that they are doing the fully assembed first because they make so much more money on them. My understanding is that someone who knows what they are doing can assemble as semi in 45 minutes.
Sigh, and here's me, I had been hoping I'd get a nice birthday present to myself back in May. 😥
