A vocal minority feel they should be given an update on a product that isn’t even late yet.  If you are that upset. Request your deposits be returned.  That will send a message.

How many emails have they sent out in the almost 9 months since we gave them our money?

I want Prusa to be successful, we aren’t asking for anything unusual or out of the ordinary.

Calm down folks, the electronics industry is insanely back-stabby right now. I can't even get reliable delivery dates from one of the largest component manufacturers in my field. We've had to buy out entire stock quantities of parts simply because the supplier stated they won't do another production run for years based upon current orders and backlogs.

It's been amazingly difficult to keep things moving at work with the component supply issues. I don't deal with that stuff, but I do see the outcome on production. Worse than unavailable components are the counterfeit ones, or parts that are just slightly out of spec. Those can mess up a run of boards and require a lot of rework.

I'm sure Prusa will figure it out sooner or later. They could be better about communicating the issues they are encountering to us.

I noticed that we're seeing a lot more components that are on the edge of the spec, yes. Like you order something that's +-1% it's almost always a guarantee you're getting +1% or -1% now... actually had problems with a serial connection because one component was -0.5% and the other was +0.5% bps and they got a shaky connection. :/ All within spec, just never got those edgecases before.

Any specifics?  I am not sure I have seen or heard of this. Do you have photos or a link?

Between that and some extremely “loose interpretations” of what defines those tolerances from a certain country that shall remain nameless. I worked for years sourcing steel, the pretzel logic used when trying to sneak something through that’s not up to spec is unreal.

RE: Unofficial Prusa XL Waiting Thread

Hi Ludodg, I think the XL was first due in June/July 2022. Then because of the chip delay, they quoted November - December 2022. Then said January/February 2023, then March for single and April beta testing the multi-head, which we were told could be 2 months.

To me this means the first singles should ship during this month but as far as I can see here, no order conversion emails have been sent and no further news of this either; so it is now unlikely that the first single XL will ship this month.

I don't know if the multi-head will still start testing in April or if it is tied to the singles starting to ship. Let's say it is not dependent on shipping singles; 2 months of testing would mean June 2023 for the first in line to get the order conversion emails.

No timescales have been given for how long it takes from full payment being made to shipping date, and no prices or times for shipping have been released. No final specifications, no user/build manuals have been shown, no software has been previewed. No enclosure has been shown.

All of us are waiting and buying a product on trust, we kind of know what it should do, we know reasonably well what it looks like, we know how much it costs but not how much it will cost to get it delivered. We have not seen (bar one possible print) any of the Beta testers prints nor have we seen any independent reviews online.

I'll said it again, we are buying on reputation and trust alone. Some Prusa users may accept this but converts to Prusa, I'm not to sure, I for one wanted to get away from 'stack 'em high, sell 'em cheap' printers but the contempt shown by Prusa has, I think broken any trust I had.

I took the announcement differently.  The first single heads should ship in March - we have 19 days.  The multi heads would ship 2 months later.  That is not April.  I am not sure where that came from.

RE: Unofficial Prusa XL Waiting Thread

middle march and as you said. not a single review online. for a honest review any youtuber with quality content needs to use the machine for some weeks.
whoever thinks to get your "payment Email" this month needs some tissues again.

the biggest point is still that this machine is just a thingiverse toy for PLA and PETG.

Even if someone else made a housing for this huge Monster, it hast o be that big to cover the PTFE Tubes that your printroom is so big i wouldnt bet on it to raise 50°c chambertemps with just heatbed-heating.

a 350 voron already needs 45min to heat the chamber with bedfans.

Since it tooks a decade for prusa to offer a MK3 housing (dont talk about prices) dont expect any solution in the next years.
And IF it will cost anothe 1000.

that "Curtain" is 100% useless.

You can have always Problems with anything. And yes it can be hard sometimes with supply chain.
But theres no reason no excuse to treat your customers this way. bad communication, no answers.

10 Years of Experience in 3D Printers and still struggle more than any other 3D Manufacturer.

Sometimes you just get what you deserve.....

i bet they lost 50% customers in the last 12months (800$ price Range buyers)

Have you used one?  I suspect not so your statements are undermined by your conjecture.

Well, we only know from Minute 5:05, that multi tool will ship 2 months after beta tests. While josef stated, that beta testers will have them soon(tm) at the time we have no idea if this actually happened. (or do we?).

Edit: took away the video link, the embedded thing is just too big and does not use the timestamp
