RE: Prusa Delays

There are reasons to have another sheet - Printing PolyCarbonate Blend can be fought on a sheet!

Satin sheet is my go-to sheet.  Works with PETG, PLA and the nylon/TPE.  Works for all materials that I use, and is less of a texture than the standard sheet.

I implement that texture as a feature in half my designs 😉

For some applications it is nice, and with the smooth or satin, if there are defects or issues with the first layer, they are more apparent.   I've just been working on some projects where I needed the top and bottom to be more alike.  Plue being able to go from PETG to PCTPE with out screwing with sheets and calibration is nice- but just when I get good at calibration, they bring out the sating sheets and now the XL with its first layer wizardry.

On the XL and the 5 head shipping order, how about bumping people with MMU2s nightmares to move to the front of the line?  I've spent over 100 hours trying to get that thing to work.  It is POSSESSED now.  It has turned a great Mk3s printer into a nightmare.

Is it just me, or is it odd that orders have been going out and there's been a few folks who posted photos of theirs, but, not a single review, unboxing video, or even just general thoughts from... anyone at all? I realize that there's probably not too many out yet, just seems odd that there's basically radio silence other than about half dozen photos from folks showing they received theirs.

I won't do a video, but I will do some posts and a review when I receive my printer.

Which is what they have stated several times over.  It was the same with the Mini.  Review units trailed customer orders by a large margin.  And review units were few and far between.

I'm sure as soon as some forum readers get a unit, pictures/prints will pop up here in no time.

I guess maybe I'm just used to other products, where there was so much excitement that "normal" (i.e. not professionals, not "influencers", etc) folks posted quite a lot when they got their things. Was hoping that there would at least be some photos or someone saying even "Yeah this thing is great!" by now.

I think the numbers shipping are exceptionally low.  I hope they ramp it up soon.

I would wonder how long the shipping is taking to get to where the customer is. Could be many haven't been received yet.

I endorse your recommendation to give MMU 2.0 customers that have had headaches to move to the front of the line. I bought an MMU when it first came out and it still hasn't worked!  It still sits on my desk so when I have time to try new fixes I can see if I can get it working.

There are several unboxing by real customers from pre-orders already 😉

For example in closed German FB group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/918986338275330

Are the beta testers never going to get released from their NDAs?

What changes / mods have you tried?  Mine is consistently doing 800+ tool changes on multi day prints without intervention.  I’m stock save for the Festo connectors on the input mod, the larger diameter PTFE tube and using a Revo.

Hey;  what about those of us that got it working perfectly well as designed - only to discover that the design didn't encompass what we desired and so discarded it?

Cheerio,

RE: Prusa Delays

Looks like Day 2 orders (assembled single-head) have started shipping according to a post on FB.  People are commenting that they are being skipped on queue.  It turns out they forgot what they ordered (semi-assembled).
