“Kipper-inspired Input Shaper”?? What the heck is this?

Saw this on the blog launch.  It does zero to explain what it is or what it does.  Feature with out benefit.

I’m so excited!  I just don’t know why?

For those of us that don’t get into printer minutia, what is this?

I’m sure many of you are also waiting for another piece of important info: for the last several months, our devs have been working on Klipper-inspired Input shaper and Pressure Advance implementations. This is our own implementation for the STM32 bare metal, not a direct port of Marlin – Klipper has a more precisely implemented input shaper and pressure advance and that’s what we’re after. We’re not quite finished yet, but we hope to share some videos with you soon. 😉

It'll be cool once implemented, tbh. It should help with some speed gains, especially on complicated parts, while also increasing quality. I hope they can execute on it and bring it to the XL quickly.

I guess they just want to implement input shaping in a less fiddly way? They have the accelerometer inbuilt and a relatively powerful microcontroller, so could eliminate the need to run Klipper on a dedicated board. Since this is the one feature most users would be after, it makes sense to have it out-of-the-box (and still retain all Prusa firmware benefits). Could also speculate that they can do extra stuff with the load cell and filament sensors, which Klipper at least initially can't do for lack of testing data. It's very promising.

How much do you wanna deep dive on it? Here's a pretty good primer I found:

I use Klipper on my Ender-3.  Reportedly it spreeds the thing up 2-5 times.  I get about 1.5-2.
