What is the max extruder and bed temps for the XL?

Assuming it can print the full line of prusament I would suspect it will be at least 300c on the hot end and least 110c on the bed.  Most materials that need higher temps than that also require an actively heated chamber, which the XL does not have.  Just an educated guess though...

Posted this same question.  I would think with the extruder/nozzle temps, there is going to be a LOT of wiggle room there since this is a tool changer.  I would guess you could build a hotend on one of the tool heads that could go 450-500*C to do PEEK and Ultem (Polyetherimide).  HOWEVER, materials like that would be constrained to whether or not the bed temp could get to the required temps (upwards of 200*C).  Then that adds the need for a heated enclosure, which it does not look like there will be (at first at least).  At best, there may be a chamber that when closed up, traps heat from that huge bed and the printing process, maybe pushing upwards of 70*C.

So IMHO, I am thinking the biggest constraints here are what temp does the bed go to and will we be able to have a heated enclosure.

The other piece not mentioned is a good solution for HEPA and activated carbon filtration and a monitoring system (which could even use the lighting system of the cabinet to flash colored alerts (orange, starting to get bad; red, over recommended levels).  VOC and TVOC monitors are getting cheaper, but to get a quality reading at an affordable price requires long term monitoring of 1-4 weeks.

I'm also curious about wireless management (not talking octoprint) and perhaps some "robotic" removing of finished prints, and then automatically kick off the next print job.  Prusa already has that technology (or at least they helped build a farm that had that capability in Dubai).

And of course there needs to be filament driers for at least 2 of the 5 spool holders, I would argue all 5.  Plus, Prusament needs to start cranking out 2 to 5 KG spools to feed this beast, so that means they need to design those integrated filament driers to support those future sizes of Prusament...

I wonder if the fact that there's a circuit board on the extruder will limit the temperature inside the enclosure. If you want to heat the chamber, it seems harder to cool a circuit board than the motor/heatsink.

RE:

Just an observation & speculation regarding the XL enclosure. It appears that the prototype enclosure fits just around the print-bed & not the frame or electronics. So there's no fear of the enclosure temps frying the electronics.

Secondly, the ratio of heated surface to enclosed space is much greater than enclosures that surround the whole frame. This could potentially accomplish higher enclosed temps than enclosures that surround the whole frame. This assumes a top or lid to the enclosure, which so far hasn't been shown. There might not need to be additional active enclosure heating.

Whatever you find to do with your hands, do with all your might!
