Any real XL prints/reviews?
Perhaps I have missed them? Are there any real reviews and or prints from the recently released XL's? I am having a hard time understanding what the hold up is on comments from people who have received their units already. I know if I was one them that got their units a week ago, I probably would have printed KG's of filament off by now!

Even though the software of the XL might not yet have input shaping fully functional, there are a lot of other things reviewers might check out and tell people who have preordered an XL like me or are still interested.
So would I - but I wouldn't be ready to publish anything for another month or two until I had a decent grasp of its capabilities. Unless you are some sort of 'influencer' I doubt you would either. Unduly hasty reviews are not worth the time it takes to view them.
Cheerio,

None, but the facebook XL page is starting to get ramped up!

Well, I was a day one order and only received my unit today.
And alas, I'm out of town for a few more weeks so I certainly won't be the first to post any reviews.

Thanks, I will look into that. I think I am a member?
RE:
There really can't be any "real" reviews until the Input Shaper and Pressure Advance are released. The development of the XL and these software pieces have likely been tied together for a very long time (hence all of the attention Prusa has been calling to the sensor arrays in the printer itself).
At this point, its best to be patient until XL and all of its software components are finished, that'll be the truest review of the long-term performance of the printer.

I disagree, pretty strongly, with this. There's no known timeline when those will ship. Could be tomorrow, could be months away. People buying things should know what they're getting now. Prusa has released it for shipping, so they are confident enough that it's a complete product for users. If there's issues, and input shaping or pressure advance resolve them, that's still good information to have right now. If you're arguing that the product isn't complete, then, my reply to that would be that it shouldn't be shipping.

You will be receiving a printer that works and will improve with time.

Well, honestly, it probably *shouldn't* be shipping yet, but the community has gotten increasingly impatient. So, someone at prusa made the decision to launch the physical printer before all its software components were finished.
That being said, it's reasonable to assume that the software is very nearly done, and is much easier to get into users hands compared with the whole printer. So only the very first users to get an XL will be affected, and the biggest difference will likely just be in terms of speed, and Prusa has been very clear from the start that speed is a secondary concern w/ the XL.
I have no doubt that in the long-run all of these issues will just be historical footnotes tho, Prusa has a great track record of supporting its products and improving them over time. My point really was just that when people start to see videos of XLs on social media, they will be running slower than expected until the input shaper is finished.

RE: Any real XL prints/reviews?
That's what I'm counting on. As long as it can do a good enough job from the onset, any software improvements will just be icing on the cake. Even without input shaper, the speed is pretty decent! Most of this will probably be sorted before my ticket comes up.

RE: Any real XL prints/reviews?
Personally, I am very happy with the beta printer (note: this is not the same as the production hardware).
There are a few of my prints (sliced with Kisslicer) in this gallery: http://www.kisslicertalk.com/viewtopic.php?t=4871
Quality overall is good - it will be better on the production hardware and improve over time as the firmware develops.

Thanks for that input / information.Perhaps it was just my disbelief that it was really out. Tweaks and upgrading be it hardware and software is always a thing. We all do it already. The supply chain issue, timing all contributed to a perfect storm. I know that the printer slow release is a real first world problem. It is just like Christmas time as a child, it is getting close and the excitement would build.
RE: Any real XL prints/reviews?
Speed while nice was never my main concern. I think my mind is at rest now. thanks
