big problem with an old Prusa I3 without lcd

Hello guys,

we have a prusa I3 at school and it was working find since someone lifted it then it starts digging the plate when it was going to home... obviously the guy that f it up said it didn't touch anything.. I tried uploading the last marlin firmware but it went even worst, i think its not right as mine don't have lcd and look pretty old. I tried to use repieter or pronteface, manually i can move the nozzle on X and Y axes but nothing on the Z... the Z just digging the plate sometime.

I don't even know what is the reference of the 3d print, all i can say is it looks like this one https://reprap.org/wiki/Prusa_i3_Rework_Introduction/fr but in the same time i can find the same under different name as Prusa I3 Mendel...

i have no clue what to do, im lost.

If someone can help me that would be great.

Some pictures of your actual printer may help identify what printer you have

Hello, i don't know yet how to send photos so all i can say is im using this tutorial and the printer is exactly the same as the one shown on it.

https://data.emotion-tech.com/ftp/Prusa_I3_Rework_et_Ordbot/Documentation/fr/Prusa_i3_Rework_rev1.5%20-%20Notice%20assemblage.pdf

Following links on this website i found a 1.0.0 firmware which i thought could be the right move finally but when i upload the sketch i get this error

"exit status 1using typedef-name 'fpos_t' after 'struct'"

i check voltage between ground and trimmer on the driver A4988 and it looks right as turning it clockwise make the voltage higher. The induction sensor close to the extruder is also showing red light when close to the plate.. the wiring is correct to me.

To be fair im quite lost.

Thank you for your time

I made some improvements. I m using 1.0.6 arduino ide and if i remove LCD lines in the code, the code compiles and can be upload. Now i install repieter to see if it works well

The printer is not an Original Prusa Mk3. it is manufactured by another company,

you say there is no LCD,

is it possible to purchase an LCD and adapter for the Ramps, and try fitting it.

It may help you sort the printer out.

the base frame looks like Mk2, so you might be able to use the LCD brackets off that model.

Forums can be a bit Clique-ish...

Even on here where Jo Prusa sells OPEN SOURCE printers and encourages Open Source contributions, some folk turn their noses  up at other manufacturers versions...

you have to be aware that most of us know little about RAMPS solutions...

as our printers use Rambo mini or Einsy Rambo motherboards.

WE will try and help where we can
