Mk4 Unable to connect reliably to prusaconnect since 5.0

Hello, I updated my Mk4 to the 5.0 firmware a few days ago and since then my printer is constantly unable to connect to my network. It doesn't seem to matter if it's connected via ethernet or via Wi-Fi. When I switch it from DHCP to static and back, it's getting an IP address from my router, however it's offline in the prusa connect app. If I go to settings, network, PrusaConnect, it shows error/net fail. Is prusa connect just constantly down? Or is something screwed up here?

Ditto. It was flaky the other day and now it straight refuses to connect with the same symptoms. PrusaLink is great and its reliably on the LAN but nothing even after trying to reboot or toggle PrusaConnect off and on.

Are you able to reach PrusaLink locally on your network? I've been having a similar issue where PrusaConnect says my printer is offline, but it clearly is not because I can always access PrusaLink. Seems to be an issue with PrusaConnect.

On the LAN with PrusaLink its always stable. I let it idle for a while and it did eventually link up with PrusaConnect tonight. I don't it with running PrusaLink on my Raspberry Pi for the MK3S+, which is always stable.

I changed absolutely nothing but left the printer on. 2 hours later and it has reconnected. This behavior happened yesterday as well.

I have only ever used Prusaconnect; I don't know anything about Prusalink. Is there an article I could read to learn more and try it? Nevermind, reading about it now. Thank you.

To answer that: Prusalink works, but Prusaconnect is working right now, so it's not a great test. I will test Prusalink again the next time I see that behavior.

I am having the same issue since 5.0. Getting Net fail and error. Sometimes it connects after leaving it for a while. Very frustrating because I waited for stable 5.o firmware to upgrade and of course there are immediate issues.

Yea having the same issue after upgrading firmware.  PrusaLink is fine but Prusa Connect is giving "Net Fail" and "error".

Same issues. I ended up deleting the printer from Connect and it took awhile but was able to re-add it, but it still doesn't connect. However now under Settings it tells me that my printer firmware is "unsupported" and that I need to upgrade it to 5.0.0 ...even though that's what I'm on 🙃

RE:

have you tried re-newing the credentials, and than start with a "new" printer in connect ?

Updated this weekend, and had to reconnect the printer. (like every time i did an update)

Yes. But the real issue is that the printer and Connect are not speaking to each other. I keep getting a "net error", even though it was not an issue before.

Ok, so I just tried it again and was able to get it to work. It took a lot of tries and a lot of turning things off and back on again, but eventually it generated a QR code again and this time when I added it to Connect it recognized my firmware and I'm able to use it. We'll see how long it lasts! 😏

RE:

i have similar issues. i have both Prusa Connect and prusa link enabled. i wonder if their servers are just overloaded with too many Prusa trying to connect to Connect. Just imagine if half of those printers are sent photos every 10 sec. It'll seem like DOS attack.

Anyway, during certain periods of the time of day, i get no remote connections to my printer. During late nights or odd times of the day, I'll get perfect connections to all my printers. The printers will eventually reconnect to Prusa Connect if it's established, but it's certainly not acceptable for remote farming purposes.

At this point, at most i can do is turn on/off the prusa connect and hope it restablish.  I really think it has to do with their network

I have not yet done any further troubleshooting on this, as I have not had anything I needed to print for the last few days. I will mess with it more this week when I can get some time.

I found some time. I just booted up my mk4 - Prusa connect can't reach it, as usual. Prusalink DOES respond.

I have not yet disconnected and reconnected the printer. I will try that next.

RE:

It stopped working again a few minutes after I made my comment. It then worked for about a minute after the print that I started via PrusaLink finished.

Again, PrusaLink works fine, PrusaConnect broken.

As with before, after about an hour, PrusaConnect was again reachable with no changes of any kind.

I'm still having issues connecting reliably. I seem to have no problems connecting at night (CST), but during the day it almost never connects.

RE: Mk4 Unable to connect reliably to prusaconnect since 5.0

My MK4 was repeatedly disconnecting / reconnecting. Took several tries to upload a print from PrusaConnect.
Turned out to be a corrupted thumb drive. Checking it on a Windows system and removing a bunch of garbage stabilized it so Connect is now working properly.

Anecdotally, it has been much better in the last week. It consistently appears in PrusaConnect now.
