Print quality - PETG with IS
After switching firmware and taking advantage of input shaping, I can say that I am happy with the time of the prints, however in certain situations a few of my prints look like garbage when printing a full plate.
Photos attached for the plate placement and the offending sides of the prints.
I'm this instance I'm printing five boxes and the front box right hand edge has sever artifacts/print quality issues.
The second one to have issues is the forward facing box on the right hand side. The front side has some of the same artifacts.
This has happened with multiple filaments, all Prusament, all new, all dry.
Appreciate any advice you may have.
RE: Print quality - PETG with IS
We're there any crashes during the print?
Did the part stay attached to the build plate, or did that dude of the part curl up?
RE: Print quality - PETG with IS
No crashes, everything printed and completed.
Only issue is those two side walls, the rest of the boxes/prints look great.

Does the problems follow the seams? Try different seam settings. There are issues with seams in IS.
What is this setting currently?

RE: Print quality - PETG with IS
I was going to suggest looking at the tool paths in the slicer to see if that tells you anything.
I have had to up the temp with PETG 10 degrees with IS, but your problem seemed only on 1 area and not random throughout the print.

Yes, you can turn on visibility of seams, retractions, etc. in the slicer and see if the anomalies line up with anything.

RE:
both of those spots are after a seam.
however other seams on the prints are fine.
screenshot of slicer with seam, also screenshot of layers settings.
I have it set to aligned, fill gaps, arachne

You might want to play a bit with the retraction setting, that can fix similar issues sometimes. I had a similar situation and reducing the retraction from 0.8mm to 0.2mm fixed it then - ymmv.
RE: Print quality - PETG with IS
That's a lot of retraction, with dry filament .8 is plenty.
I took the prusament PETG profile and updated the filament diameter to match what I measured on the actual roll of material and updated the extrusion multiplier to get exactly a .45mm wall. You can check this by printing a 20x20mm cube in vase mode.
One other thing to update is the volumetric flow rate for the brand of petg your using, they are not all the same. For example Hatchbox PETG volumetric flow rate is 2x that of Polymaker Polylite PETG.
With those updated settings on the Prusament PETG profile my prints turn out as good or better than my PLA prints.
RE: Print quality - PETG with IS
@toddg: Yes, I meant retraction. The stock Prusament PETG profile has an override for that which sets it to 0,8mm:
0,8mm is OK for most prints, but when you get little blobs where the extruder stops extruding, it's a great idea to reduce this. I had very good results with 0,2mm for my rather tricky minimal gridfinity bins.

Oh, my settings are for the MK4, I just now realized you have a Mini. I don't know the proper absolute values for that device, but the general idea of reducing the setting seems transferable. 🙂
