RE: Cannot upload file via PrusaLink after update

All of this is incredibly frustrating. Both because the Wifi was incredibly slow anyhow but now I also need to reset like 30 times for one print. I can't upload without ping on the side anymore ;D

RE: Cannot upload file via PrusaLink after update

Correction:

I did a factory reset like someone suggested about the X-axis homing error.

I only reset the settings not the whole printer.
That did not resolve that error (a small piece of foam tape on the X-axis did that)

But, that forced me to create new API keys and passwords for PrusaLink and PrusaConnect.
Then I had to competely delete and re-register my Mini+ in Both PrusaSlicer and PrusaConnect.

Now I can upload and monitor again. Also link to HomeAssistant works and I can upload to subfolders, which firmware 4.4.1 does not support.

RE: Cannot upload file via PrusaLink after update

This morning I sent a print to it out of optimism, got the standard "unscussful" response and thought nothing of it until I got to the printer and saw that it had actually worked and the file was waiting for me to print.

What has been working most often is making sure the printer is on the home screen and is done with a print and then dropping the file on the Dashboard tab instead of the Storage tab.  It's still not always working as consistently as it did before the most recent updates but I would be interested to hear if this helps others.  I did not reflash or reset any software or firmware since upfating to the v5 alpha.

RE: Cannot upload file via PrusaLink after update

- check if the ip of printer is not changed in prusa settings and if using dhcp, reserve the printer's ip

- always save the file before sending to printer, i think the bug has something to do with the preview file generation and i don't get as much errors if i save the file before sending.

RE:

here the file sending over WiFi always stops after some 3.6MB (but smaller files i can send without issues), with latest alpha1 firmware and 2.6.1 slicer

RE: Cannot upload file via PrusaLink after update

Hi i wanted to update, so i checked around and i found in the logs during the gcode sending process and it was complaining about storage, so i removed for test all files with subdirectories from the stick and tried again... and it works 🙂 i can send bigger files... So could be that the issue is related to the handling storage for now, not the upload process itself...

RE: Cannot upload file via PrusaLink after update

I updated to firmware 5.1.0-alpha2, and now I have no problem sending 20 MB files over WiFi. Fantastic! This is what I was looking forward to. Among other things, this firmware supports binary bgcode, which is typically four times smaller than traditional GCode. This means that files are uploaded to the printer much faster than with 4.4.1. It can also stream Gcode, meaning that printing starts right away, and the rest of the file finishes during the print. I haven't seen it in action, either because I print small files or because I need to enable it somewhere in PrusaSlicer 2.7.0 (?). In any case, it's a completely different printer compared to 4.4.1. There's no going back to 4.4.1. 🙂 Good work! Prusa Connect / Prusa Link also works great.

Oh great!  I didn't even see that alpha 2 had been released, I was just confused about the Slicer alpha that was making these weird bgcode files that I couldn't use.  😀  I'll have to give it a try, thanks!

But it crashes more frequently than Alpha1. But that will certainly be resolved in Alpha3.

RE:

At least on my side i don't have any issues with alpha2, and slicer 2.7 alpha (and it's using bgcode).
Before i had problem with wifi, but never had any crash, blue screen etc.

RE:

For example, I started a print, calibration was in progress, I stopped the print, everything was fine. Then I sent a new print, and a blue screen of death. Reset, blue screen of death. Reset, blue screen of death. I had to turn printer off, wait, turn it back on, upload again, and it's okay, it's printing.
