Tuning my petg profile

Hi all,

I'm running a bondtech upgraded mini, it won't print with out those mods and that's after warranty, my petg prints are almost there but I could use a bit of help tuning my profile.

I'm running the latest Prusa slicer, generic petg profile. I'm using Esun petg

See attached image.

Any help would be great.

Anyone able to help?

Upping the retraction made the prints horrible.

@m8harry

It will have to be someone who has the Bondtech modification and uses the Esun filament. Every setup will be different. One thing I can tell you is if you are not drying your filament, that will help. Dry filament helps a lot of different issues. Also, settings that work well on a test object may not work well on a different object you want to print. 3D printing is just not plug and play. You get a feel for what will fix various issues after a while, and having someone to help, like those on these forums, is a big plus.

Regards,

Mark

Agree with this 100%. "When in doubt, dry it out", particularly with PETG and other filaments prone to absorbing moisture.

This might help people tune filaments:

And the temperature one too.

RE: Tuning my petg profile

I'm currently printing with PETG with the Bondtech mods. I was having issues early on but part of it is just being new to PETG and needing to dial in my settings better. I was mainly having adhesion issues trying to use the textured plate as you're supposed to but could not get it to stick. I adjusted the Z-offset to compensate for the plate thickness but didn't help. I had messed up one side of my smooth plate previously so I figured I'd give it a try with that in case it had any issues, I would still have the good side to print on while I waited for a new one to arrive. I slowed the print way down and it's been great. I am using Duramic 3D PETG. I'm printing between 45-50mm/s. It's slow but the results have been really nice. I'll continue to tweak and see if I can speed it up after I'm done printing the things I'm doing for my E3P. I have not tried the slower speeds yet with the textured plate but that will also be done as well once I get back to tweaking. I'm hoping that works.
