Trying to dial in eSun ABS+ on my new Mini+

The print keeps failing at this last long skinny detail.  I chopped it down to just the hard bit so I can try different settings.  Are there any changes I should make that are obvious to you more experienced users?

I am printing with eSun ABS+ on .15 Quality 3 layers/ 20%infill @ 245C Nozzle/ 100C Bed / 40C Closed Chamber.  Default auto fan at 15% min & max.

Thanks in advance!

That is a big improvement. I will remember what you did and add it to my bag of tricks. I haven't messed with the fan speeds that much, and I am surprised to see such a big difference. I use ASA a fair amount and it is trickier to print. Anything with an overhang is challenging, as are large objects. A draft shield can help. Sometimes I cut the part into pieces that can go flat on the print bed and then glue them together afterward with Acetone. ABS can be processed similarly.

Regards,

Mark

I've actually been dealing with this myself. New to 3d printing, pla seems easy enough, petg not much harder but haven't managed to get a decent benchy from abs+ yet. I'll give your settings a go.

Yeah thanks, my friend with a Voron suggested more cooling.  Worked out pretty good.

Which ASA have you settled on.  I want to dive into ASA too, but don't know which one to buy that will provide easy printing and great layer adhesion.

I'm not sure who you are asking, but I use Prusament ASA. I would not call ASA printing ever "easy". You just need enough tricks and tweaks to be successful.

Mark
