Prints never stay stuck.. why?

This has to be a straight forward issue, but i can not get my prints to stick!

They always seem to become unstuck about 5% into the print.

The bed is clean, i have tried different pla (currently using prusament), non textured bed.

I have tried adding glue stick layer 

First layer configuration prints fine, no problems.
Currently 0.800 (*should i go for something much lower?)

I have added a brim to the prints to aid in adhesion.

It is really really getting annoying as it is just wasting filament!
Never had these issues on the ANET A8.

As i type this i have a print ongoing which i have used painters tape to tape the brim to the bed,
in the hope that it does not come unstuck.

What could the problem be?
I clean the PEI sheet with alcohol etc. (Maybe i should try acetone?)
Should i set the calibration lower? (The test print look fine, but maybe still too high?)

Hi the first thing I did was give both types of sheet a good wash with dish washing liquid and then I just clean the PEI sheet every now and again with IPA and I have not had any problems with PLA sticking to the PEI sheet or the powder coated one. PLA does stick better to the PEI sheet better.

Is this the smooth or textured sheet?

As I've said, with the smooth sheet, I've had good luck with a small amount of glue stick. It helps with both adhesion of the first layer and release.

For the textured sheet, yes, I've had a couple of cases where items with small footprints will break away.  I've found that the smooth sheet is the correct tool for most small-footprint jobs.

How small a foot print? 


Is this small enough?  about 1.0 mm thick

this is PLA on a textured heatbed, washed with dishsoap and water, and printed at 70C bed temperature

I would most definitely use a brim on that one.

A few degrees of difference can make a huge impact on how the PC sheet behaves.

Thank you for the helpful feedback. 😊 

It is the smooth sheet that i am using.

The foot print is quite big, but long.. so about 10mm x 100mm
it should be sticking.

I will do as people suggest and wash the PEI sheet with washing up liquid.
Also, i think the bed temperature might be better slightly higher.. i will give that a go and post back here with my results.

Just in case, canyou post picture of first layer or bottom of your print? If your sheet is crystal clean without smudges and you still have adhesion problems, it may be that your Z is still too high.

UPDATE:

Hi, i am pleased to say that washing the PEI sheet with washing up liquid has certainly helped.
I have also reduced the height of the Z axis and that seems to have helped as well.

I have printed the test BOLT print, and no problem. (Nice big footprint on that one).
I am just printing the NUT print now, so hopefully that will also be o.k

Thank you for the help, at least i know the PEI sheet doesnt have some manufacturing defect. 😊
