Help with globby layers?

Any idea what is causing layers after the first to be globby messes (see pic)? Printing PETG. PLA doesn’t seem to have this problem. The first layer prints just fine, which is confusing me. Anyone able to point me in the right direction to troubleshoot? Thanks!!

I did try live z-adjust to see if that helped and it doesn’t seem to help. That or I just am not finding the right height.

Without any other ideas, I guess I’ll try this first layer calibration approach. And provide pics of my first layer calibration for diagnosing…
More details: using satin sheet with glue stick, Overture brand PETG.

When I first started using PETG, I had something similar and had to tinker with the extrusion multiplier to get it looking nice & smooth ( https://help.prusa3d.com/article/extrusion-multiplier-calibration_2257)

Also, PETG needs to be dried thoroughly - it's less forgiving than PLA. Not saying that's the root cause of your issues, but bone dry filament will certainly help.

also worth to print temperature tower for petg, your temperaure may be too high or not enough cooling

See my GitHub and printables.com for some 3d stuff that you may like.
