First Layer Issues

First off let me apologize for being a complete noob here. I'm researching the troubleshooting articles around this topic and there are a few options here, i have improved this slightly, the filament being layer is better, but nowhere near where I think it should be.

This was a 2mm print of a square i found in https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/original-prusa-i3-mk3s-mk3-assembly-and-first-prints-troubleshooting/life-adjust-z-my-way/

I just got this printer and the first layer calibration was pretty bad. I can't seem to get a solid square out of this and I'm struggling understanding what to do exactly to get some forward progress. Apologies again if this is the incorrect forum or this has been asked to death (I'm sure it has) but any help would be greatly appreciated. Bit of a learning curve just diving into 3d printing.

Hardware: Mini+

Filament: Prusament PLA Prusa Galaxy Black

Z axis offset on print: started at 130 ended at 280 doing live z adjustment

I think I may have found the issue here and part of this was  me being afraid to damage something by brining the print head too close to the printing area.

I lowered the Z axis to -925 and got actual adhesion between lines this time. Super excited to see something printing correctly finally.

On my printer, as it was when I received it, I needed to use about -1.6 to get the proper squish. So don't be afraid to go lower; there must not be any gaps between the lines in the end. Refer to this for examples and more info: https://help.prusa3d.com/pl/article/first-layer-calibration-mini_229122

Glad you figured it out. It's a common mistake, seems most people are afraid to go low. With the SuperPinda properly positioned, you should be at around -1.0 but the absolute numbers mean nothing. When you get to -2.0 though, it's a sign the SuperPinda needs to be relocated higher up.
